Weekly Update (Week 41, 2022)

Took some time off in September and now I’m back to my usual routines at home. Most people take vacations during August in France (due to the kid’s vacations), so September is usually cheaper and you still have quite a bit of sun.

I just finished Record of a Spaceborn Few from Becky Chambers and it has become my favorite one from this series. I’ve been really liking all her stories, specially the world she has made up, with the different races, historical background and details. This book focuses on the human race, and maybe that’s one of the reasons I liked it as it’s easier to relate to the things happening and being said. I highly recommend this series if you haven’t read it yet.

I’ve recently joined a board game club and so far it’s been nice. On the first session we played Age of Empires III: The Age of Discovery, and on the second one I got introduced to Gaia Project. I lost both matches 😛, but the one I enjoyed the most was Gaia Project. Since then, I’ve played it only a couple times on BGA (each game takes ~2 hours). This week I finally managed to get a decent score of 187, which is a huge progress from my previous less-than-100 games (I didn’t win this match though 😥).
